PROFESSIONAL CONSULTATIONS
Today’s organizations tend to be more productive and successful when the staff demonstrates awareness, respect, and comfort with diversity. Our professional consultations focus on helping you pinpoint what your staff needs are and what it will take to enhance its functioning. We start this process with an initial consultation to assess the overall staff or organizational dynamics. We follow that up by meeting with relevant staff, then complete our consultation process with a verbal and written discussion of our findings and recommendations.
IN-HOUSE TRAINING
SEMINARS
Agencies with a moderate to large staff often find it beneficial to offer professional development diversity training on site. This method can save time and resources as individual staff members do not have to take time off to travel to seminars. On site diversity training seminars also ensure that all staff are receiving the same training content, which leads to better continuity when applying that new knowledge to the work. In house seminars can also be tailored to the needs of the staff, which does not happen when one attends a general professional development seminar. We have many years of cultural competency and diversity training experience, and our methods are specifically designed to the group and environment we are training.
WORKSHOPS
AND
CONFERENCES
The critical importance of cultural competency in training, supervision, psychotherapy and teaching has been widely researched and written about. In fact, for most helping professionals, there are ethical guidelines that include cultural competency as a requisite skill for professional practice, and even specify a certain amount of regular professional training to continually enhance one’s skill in this area for license renewal. We offer workshops, diversity trainings as well as multiple-day training at conferences that meet the requirements for cultural competency-based continuing education.
